Haiti 2019
On Sunday February 10, 2019 Laurie Kelley went to Haiti for the third time to try to start a hemophilia program. With excellent contacts finally made, and meetings planned, the trip had to be abandoned only 24 hours later as escalating violence led the US Embassy to advise Americans to leave. Haitians were rioting over government corruption, and food and gas shortages. Laurie was able to make one visit to Steven Saintil and his brother Louvens, who were diagnosed just 6 months ago with hemophilia A. They receive factor from Project SHARE and will continue to be monitored and treated.
